Am delighted to report that CCAC Life members Colonel (Ret) Kenneth Smith & LTC (Ret) Kevin Smith were the keynote speakers at the 29th annual “Run to the Wall ” at the Texas state Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Fair Park in Dallas. They are pictured (from the left)  with a wreath near the wall.

This event has taken place every year since it’s inauguration in 1989 when president George Bush delivered the dedication speech. Since then, thousands of Texans and people from around the world have visited this memorial and have paid their respects to the heroes listed on the wall and to all veterans and active duty US military personnel regardless of when or where they served.

This year’s event was on November 4, 2017 (always scheduled the Saturday before Veteran’s Day). The weather was beautiful, the motorcycle ride from the Ballpark in Arlington to the memorial at Fair Park was well attended, and the speeches of the keynote speakers was well received.

Following the ceremony, there was a party held at a local establishment and attending CCAC members heard a lot of positive comments about the speakers and the message they delivered.

The UTA Military Science department and the CCAC have participated in this event for many years. Both the UTA Color Guard and the Sam Houston Rifles have participated when their schedule permits. We are proud to say the CCAC Life member Fred Campos is one of the key organizers of this event every year.
